ENROLL IN KISD 2026-27 DEVICE protection plan
Kennedale ISD offers an optional device protection plan for students in grades 6-12 using district-issued Chromebooks. This plan covers accidental damage for the enrolled school year and is available for a fee of $25. Enrollment in the plan is only available at the beginning of the school year.
Coverage
- Accidental Damage: Covers accidental damage to Chromebooks for the enrolled school year.
Exclusions
- Intentional Damage: Not covered.
- Lost or Stolen Devices: Not covered. A replacement will cost $300.
- Charging Cords: Not covered. These are always $20.
- Existing Fines: Does not remove any pre-existing fines.
- Loss of Privileges: Does not circumvent decisions such as loss of Chromebook privileges as determined by KISD teachers, administrators, or staff.
Costs Without Coverage
If a student does not have coverage, they and their parents are subject to fines and fees as described in the KISD User Agreement for Technology, including:
- Cracked Case or Broken Keyboard: $50
- Broken Screen: $70
- Full Replacement Due to Damage, Loss, or Theft: $300
- Replacement Chargers: $20 (always)
Damages due to normal wear and tear or manufacturing defects are covered by the district.
