PSAT/NMSQT Information
PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered to all 11th grade students on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
The PSAT/NMSQT evaluates the skills each student has developed in Reading, Writing & Language, and Math; it also provides tools for a student to achieve his or her college and career goals. Because the PSAT/NMSQT evaluates the same skills as the SAT, taking this assessment is an effective way for a student to start preparing for the SAT. Additionally, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT qualify for a chance to win scholarships and recognition from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and other scholarship partners. All 11th grade students will participate in the assessment at no cost to the student. Homeschool students who wish to participate should e-mail Dr. Rachel Lomax at lomaxr@kisdtx.net to register and coordinate payment for exam fees.
Results from the PSAT/NMSQT are available online in December.
